westbury celtic
reserves gained a valuable point in their fight against relegation
despite throwing away a 3-1 lead as callow end hit back with a
late goal to earn a share of the spoils in this worcester prem six
goal thriller,
the home side were
missing bowman,mcullough,ross,baker,rainbow,macabe
forrester and heaney as their
crippling injury list continued but it was the depleted hosts who
came firing out of the traps to take an early lead from the
penalty spot when skipper aaron austin slotted home after ben
brogan was upended, but the lead lasted only moments when jon
greenwood smashed callow end level, but westbury started to
dominate and went back in front on 25 minutes when alan parkinson
continued to prove what a buy he was when he unleashed another
great finish and might of sent celtic further in front before the
break when he hit a post following great work from carlin,
the reserves got
off to the perfect start after the restart when ben brogan capped
another quality performance to put them three up but westburys
injury jinx struck again as brogan and thompson were forced off
and from then on it was backs against the wall for the home side
as callow end threw men forward and finally pulled one back when
spencer drove in from close range, celtic looked to of hung on as
they defending with their lives before morse scrambled in a late
equaliser to grab a point for the visitors.
disapointed to let
the lead slip but one things for sure the reserves aint going down
without a fight as the manager now faces a tough task to field a
team for sundays home cup tie against meadow park with an
incredible 12 players out.....even the black books running out of
players!!!
