The second home game of the season and the boys were feeling confident playing one of the teams at the top of the league.  After just 5 minutes Westbury were ahead by a great goal from Ben K after some good passes from his team mates.  However, the lead was short-lived after we conceded not just a corner but also a goal.  Quickly after the re-start Westbury lost possession and went a second goal down from a superb strike kicked high up into the top corner making it un-stoppable for Harry Staley in goal.

Westbury soon found themselves under more pressure and when their forward burst through the defence leaving Harry Staley one on one it was surely a second goal for them?...  But no, Harry made a superb save at the feet of the player to save the goal.

Although quicker to the ball and using the pace of midfielders Benjamin and Charlie Q Westbury were not able to finish good passes off with a goal.  Half time would give Mick and Gez the chance to give the boys a lift.

The team came out passing the way they do in training and with a great cross from Ben K Charlie W was once again able to get on the end of it bringing the scores level and Westbury back on a level playing field (Excuse the pun Mr Groundsman!!)

Badgers put up a really hard battle for us but we kept working hard with all players chasing the ball the talking to each other.  The one player who kept Westbury in the game was most definitely Harry Staley who had certainly had his Weetabix making great save after great save!!

The next goal was straight out of David Beckham’s back catalogue as one of the L and B Badgers players saw Harry off his line, kicked the ball and managed to lob the ball into the back of the net making the score 2-3 to the visitors.

With the game coming to a close and Westbury having more attacking play they had a chance to draw even and have the result they deserved but…. a simple mistake at the back allowed Badgers in to make the final score 2-4 which did not really reflect the even nature of the game.  Next time boys eh?  Well done to Harry Staley who had a great game in goal and was Player of the game given by the ref.
